• As ETL solution we use Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). SSIS handles data from heterogeneous data sources within the same package. Through SSIS we are able to consume data from sources that can't be accessed directly using T-SQL, e.g. FTP, HTTP, MSMQ, Analysis Services and SMO, SSIS can even use .NET Data providers as an alternative to the OLEDB Providers allowing access to systems such as SAP and Oracle. We can make data transformations without the need for a staging area. Another feature of the SSIS is the more sophisticated structured error handling system as well as multiple options for logging and auditing. "Bad" data can be redirected to a different data sources for further examination or processing. Debugging is pretty easy as the SSIS designer provides a visual representation of the work being done. Parallel execution of data flows is possible. SSIS does not even require an instance of SQL Server to run, so processing can be moved to a machine other than the SQL Server.


• For online analytical processing (OLAP) and data mining functionality for business intelligence applications SBND Technologies uses Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). Analysis Services supports OLAP by letting us design, create, and manage multidimensional structures that contain data aggregated from other data sources, such as relational databases. For data mining applications, we design, create, and visualize data mining models that are constructed from other data sources by using a wide variety of industry-standard data mining algorithms - this is what Analysis Services helps us for. One of the benefits is the opportunity for creating clean, structured views on the data. SSAS performance is better than a relational DB on large volumes of data. Some of the complex calculations that cannot be written and used against relational databases can be easily created as MDX queries and used against multidimensional SSAS cubes. SSAS provides widely reusable calculated measures which are fast to execute.

That’s where Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) helps us. So if you’re an ERP user, you can start using SSRS to your advantage. SQL Server Reporting Services combines the benefits of a centrally-managed reporting system with the flexibility and on-demand nature of desktop and web-based applications. It’s designed to support a wide variety of reporting needs including managed enterprise reporting, ad-hoc reporting, embedded reporting, and web based reporting to enable SBND Technologies to deliver relevant information wherever it’s needed across your entire organization. SSRS reports are pretty easy connected and deployed to Microsoft SharePoint portals which we can manage flawlessly for you.

We have been developing solutions for the SharePoint Server 2007 (WSS 3.0), SharePoint Server and Foundation 2010 and the new SharePoint 2013 for nearly 7 years. During these projects we have coupled SharePoint with ASP.NET MVC, WCF and WF to shorten the time span and utilize the Microsoft development stack for best practices.
